While a lot of us look forward to Christmas and new year as an opportunity to put our feet up and get away from work for a bit, we know there others who don’t get that luxury. For an awful lot of us, this time of year is the busiest and most stressful.
Spare a thought for the barista or shop assistant or waiter who not only hasn’t had a break, but has actually seen a ramping up in the hours they’re rostered to work.
If it’s your first time working over this period, it can be really confusing to understand what you’re supposed to be paid and what entitlements you’re owed.
